A trio of articles demonstrate how that darn Deep State’s days are numbered, thanks to Trump the Destroyer.

Sawn Song for Democratic “Institutions”

For this installment of my column, I’d like to do something a little different than I normally do. I’m going to review not a book, but three articles that get at a point that should make all you Alt-Thinkers squeal with misguided glee.

Oh, those highly educated folks capable of critical thinking and lucid thought, the left-leaning national intelligentsia, are at it again. In a series of recent long-form articles in the mainstream media, three people who are actually experts in their fields point out a lovely fact. President Donald Trump and his administration of political and intellectual neophytes are dismantling that bogeyman we on the right like to call the Deep State.

Well, it’s about time someone did that! So long to the social safety net, the U.S.’s role as a world leader, and those pesky institutions that wise men and women established to keep our country’s democratic experiment going.

Can Democracy Survive? Who Cares, Right?

In a cover story, The Atlantic, a home of actually intelligent analyses and cogent argument, asks, “Will Donald Trump Destroy the Presidency?” Let’s hope!

Unlike our side, the left has a powerful weapon: people with brains that work like they’re supposed to, like the author of the aforementioned article, Jack Goldsmith. He also has experience thinking and writing about government. Wow! I mean, uh….he’s a useless elitist. Yes, that’s right. A know-nothing fool! But his article made some good points, although not in the manner he intended, for us, dear, fellow right wing nut jobs.

Trump, in short, is wielding a Soprano touch on American institutions. “I’m fucking King Midas in reverse here,” Tony Soprano once told his therapist. “Everything I touch turns to shit,” writes Goldsmith.

We highly encourage you to read this delicious report by Goldsmith in its entirety.

We’re Gonna Light It Up/Like It’s Dynamite

So goes the song, “Dynamite,’ by Taio Cruz, a lovely black fellow.

It’s a good way to think of how Trump is treating “the architecture of global governance,” as a New Yorker article puts it. Don’t ya’ just wanna light that fuse, Alt-Friends? Well, out of respect, let’s let a man who really knows what he’s doing, given that he had a hit reality show, The Apprentice, do it–out of respect.

Writer Adam Davidson details how the Trump administration’s abandonment of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative is one example of its demolishment of the carefully crafted global relationships, agreements, and partnerships that previous U.S. leaders have spent their careers carefully constructing. Oh, well! It’s preferable to isolate us and foment chaos. After all, turning into a paranoid, widely disdained nation is never the sign of the beginning of its demise!

Davidson notes in this fabulous little article: “Abandoning E.I.T.I. is not for show; it is a move toward dismantling the architecture of global governance. Even if most Americans won’t notice, the Azerbaijanis—and the leaders of many other nations—surely will.

There’s Always a Wrecking Ball

Of course, Trump the Destroyer has at his disposal another tool if the liberals won’t allow him to simply blow up everything we as citizens of the United States hold dear: the wrecking ball. That’s how a graphic in a recent Time cover story envisions the way dear President Trump has been using the time he could be getting spray tans and bleaching his hair.. He’s demolishing the Deep State, people! Soon, we’ll all be able to pick ourselves up by our bootstraps and take personal responsibility for our lives, instead of being lazy, whiny children who want the government to do everything for us. At least that’s sure how we hope it works out. Kind of just like we hope and assume we’ll win when we buy lottery tickets, although it hasn’t happened the last 46,873 times we’ve done it,

Writer Massimo Calabresi posits that under the watchful eye of the sick and twisted Steve Bannon, the Trump administration’s campaign to install carefully selected Cabinet officials will essentially make the federal government a palimpsest of what it once was, unrecognizable and impotent.

That’s one of our “things,” on the right wing, anti-Federalism. So, yay.
